In short
You come to conversion by recognising that you are a sinner, asking Jesus for forgiveness, and giving Him your life. You can pray that in your own words, right where you are.
There is no ceremony and no waiting list. Conversion happens in three steps, and you can take them today, wherever you are.
1. Recognise that you are a sinner
Be honest with God about what you have done and about the life you have lived apart from Him. Not vague regret, but naming it. Every person has sinned and falls short of God’s glory.
2. Ask Jesus for forgiveness
Forgiveness rests on what Jesus did, not on what you promise to do better. He died on the cross in your place and rose again on the third day. Ask Him to forgive you on that basis.
3. Give Him your life
Conversion is not collecting forgiveness and then carrying on as before. It means that from now on you want to do His will rather than your own.
A prayer you can pray
Jesus, I come to You. I admit that I have sinned and turned away from You. I ask You to forgive me and to come and live in my heart. From now on I want to do Your will. Thank You that You are my Saviour. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
If you prayed that and meant it, tell someone. Come and talk to us after a service, or send us a message. We would be glad to help you take the next step.
Still have questions?
You are welcome to come and ask them in person. Drop in at any service, or send us a message and we will get back to you.
