Our foundation
W
hat we believe
Five convictions this church is built on, drawn straight from Scripture.
01
Christ at the centre
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the living God. He was born of a virgin and lived among us as a man.
He died on a cross for the forgiveness of our sins and the healing of our bodies.
He rose from the dead on the third day and ascended into heaven.
He will return to the earth to reign as King.
02
The authority of the Bible
The Bible is the infallible Word of God and carries authority in every area of life.
God created the earth by His Word, and nothing came into being without Him.
03
Personal faith
Every person is a sinner and is eternally lost unless they turn from their sins and place their full faith in Jesus Christ, and so receive eternal life.
You must be born again to enter the kingdom of God. Jesus Christ is the only Saviour for humanity, and He is the same forever.
Every follower of Jesus should be baptised in water. The right way is baptism by immersion.
Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ alone and is baptised will be saved.
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, as on the first day of Pentecost. It is God’s promise for all believers, and the evidence of it is speaking in new tongues.
04
Prayer
Prayer is talking with God and seeking His presence.
Through Jesus Christ every believer can pray to the Father, and His promise is that He hears and answers.
05
Mission
The great commission Jesus gives every church reads: go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that He commanded. That commission has never been withdrawn. (Matthew 28:19)
Evangelism is not done by something but by someone. That is why we go into the town centre and out into our neighbourhoods every week to share our faith.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Psalm 119:105
